I can see where you are coming from. Its unfortunate in todays time that we cannot have a modern Shelby, Mr. Norm, or Yenko, that really do R&D. Roush and Steeda do most for our passion, but Gary Patterson at Shelby really is trying to keep what Carroll started going.
Which is a great goal. I'd be very happy if thay started to actually bring performance R&D back in house.

So are you saying the one listed is not?

No but it appears the supercharger and other performance add-ons might not be. Shelby makes various HP levels. All I’m saying is check with Shelby America to confirm. Regardless, the car is stunning and well put together. I just don’t think Shelby America would install
Roush parts. It seems odd. I could be wrong. Checking is best.

That actually makes really good sense and shame on me for not thinking of it. The car may have been originally a NA Shelby GT which had the SC kit and other parts added afterwards. If that is the case I would probably pass.

I'd value it as less than a regular GT in the future. Shelby packages are no different than Saleen, Roush or Steeda ones. Mostly just FP power parts + either their own or another company's handling bits + some wheels and a front lip change and decals. Everyone uses the same formula.
Well ... not for nothing, but you would be incorrect on the valuation as you were with a few of your statements in the thread. I think that we have at least noted what the improvements are of the Shelby GT at least. That being said, the Shelby GT value will always be higher than the value on the GT. I mean, you can go back and look at the values of the 07 & 08 Shelby GT's and compare them to 07 and 08 GT Mustangs if you would like and let me know if they are higher or lower. Also, can you tell me if a 2019 at $73,000 is priced higher than a 2022 GT at $53,000?

The Shelby GT has always been a parts bin car born out of the deal with Ford, Shelby & Hertz to bring back the GT-H. The Shelby GT used to get the Super Snake front bumper, but now just gets the Shelby Deep Draw Hood which is functional. Did Shelby American R&D the Shelby GT, not really, but they worked with Ford Performance as they have done in the past to create it. The other Shelby Products go through R&D to create them and retain as much of the Ford warranty and Ford Performance Warranty as possible.

Unbeknownst to most people, Vince LaViollette has routinely taken Shelby vehicles to Las Vegas Motor Speedway to develop and test parts that they are thinking about using on their vehicles as well as tune them on the track. The Shelby Heavy Duty Cooling Packages on a lot of their Supercharged cars were born out of testing that Shelby had done. Also, Shelby has recently hired on Billy Johnson to do testing for them on their parts. A lot of the parts that Shelby designs in house and contracts our are held to the same quality standards that manufacturers hold them to which is why Shelby doesn't change out any of the airbags or other components on cars when they easily could. Also, Roush is a major engineering and manufacturing company. What we know with Roush Performance is only a very small part of what Roush does as a company and especially the types of facilities and capabilities that they have eclipse every aftermarket manufacturer that deals with Mustangs. Shelby American and Ford work very close together, if memory serves me right, they were testing their hood design for the Shelby GT500 Signature Edition and KR in Ford's wind tunnels and Ford was quite envious of what Shelby was doing with the hood. You can see the development and testing on the 2011-2012 GT350, with the differences in aero testing that Shelby continued to do during production.

The picture of the Whipple Supercharger on the Rapid Red car that was shown appears to be from a Super Snake, not a Shelby GT. The Shelby GT from what I can recall is still using the Ford Performance Supercharger with Shelby Badging. The one that is listed in the ad appears to be an aftermarket Roush Supercharger as there is no Shelby American badging on the supercharger.

If you look at the options list I posted that I received from Shelby, they are indeed still using the FP supercharger. But I always thought the FP supercharger was just Ford selling the same Roush supercharger? They even have the same badge. In any case, I think you are right, the supercharger on that car was installed separately from Shelby. The options list says the strip on the side should say Shelby GT/SC

That’s exactly what I’m saying.
We were talking about the the Shelby GT. The Super Snake is a completely different car. The Shelby GT doesn't even come standard with a supercharger, its a $14,000+ option. and they use a FP/Roush supercharger.⬇

I was thinking of sending mine in last summer. For anyone interested, here is the price list (as of last summer). Note, if you get the GT/SC you have to get the heavy duty package.
