The real answer is that nobody really knows for sure. FordService on here posted a pic that was supposed to show all the speaker positions and even that didn't match up with other Ford documentation that has been leaked/released. This thread shows some of the discussions related to speaker locations:

i posted this in another thread but i thought I would put it here as well to help explain some of the confusion:

look at the product guide and ill try to explain it better than the ford ppl did in the thread with the diagram:
the key thing is understanding fords reference to "subwoofer."
the "two 10inch subwoofers in the trunk" the product guide refers to are the speakers in the rear deck facing the cabin. (yes they have more range than just subwoofers but this is how ford references them)
the 8 inch inch "subwoofers have one mounted in each front door and the one you see in these photos in the separate enclosure in the trunk (the two in the doors have more range than just subwoofer tones, the trunk enclosure being dedicated subwoofer)
the other ones are self explanatory.... and for whatever reason they chose not to reference the center channel speaker in the dash but as will smith says in independence day.. "trust me its there"

what ford caused confusion with in the diagram is the "convertible speaker locations" also have speakers there in the coupe just in the convertible I believe they relocate the speakers that are in the rear deck to that location as well. I believe the grey dots in the blue circles on the rear deck are meant to represent the rear speakers in the quarter panel

I don't understand the confusion. The diagram seems perfectly clear to me.

1 Orange speaker in the dash
2 Yellow speakers in the A pillars
2 Orange speakers in the doors
2 Red speakers in the doors
2 Blue speakers in the rear deck
2 Grey speakers mounted within the blue rear speakers
1 Green Sub range speaker in the trunk

12 speakers

In the convertible the 4 speakers in the rear deck are moved to the side panels in the rear seats.

Am I missing something?

I am new to the forms here..... I have an appointment with my local Ford Dealership here in Lincoln, NE. Is the Shaker Pro with the 12 speakers really worth it? I have a 2001 but my 18 year old son totaled it last week, moving up my purchase of the 2015 by three months!

BTW he was okay until i got home...!

Original Shaker = Loud but very distorted when turned up.

Shaker Pro 9 Speaker =huge improvement over the original. improved clarity but missing mids

Shaker Pro 12 Speaker = I believe it's going to finally feel like a comprehensive complete system. I say go for it.
