Noticed a problem with the puddle lights and left side turn signal light not working on left mirror, took it back to dealer and was asked to return the next Monday and they would take care of it. Took it back on Monday the 24th and adviser came back and said something was pinched and they would have to start removing panels to find a pinch and I would have to return yet again and since it would be at least a week before they would have a loaner and they would call when a loaner became available. While waiting for the loaner I did some research on this very site and found a member that had exactly the same problem caused by a faulty BCM. Called the dealer and told them of this an was told that the BCM would have to be scanned to determine this and they would do this when I returned the car. So I receive a call telling me a loaner would be available this Tuesday so I return with the car Tuesday AM and the adviser said the would call that afternoon with an update, Tuesday passes no call, Wednesday passes with no call, I call them Thursday and the adviser tells me that its indeed a faulty BCM that they ordered and the car would be ready today and they would call. Waited for most of the day and heard nothing so again I call them, the adviser said that the part had not came in and they would check into it and call me back. again no call from them. Why could they not scan the BCM to start with to avoid all this BS the second tine that I returned the car to them.Car has been great but this service run around is ridiculous.

Just because one person had a "faulty" BCM doesn't mean that's the issue with your vehicle. There are multiple causes for any issue; if you just replace parts based on what someone else said then you will end up with an unresolved issue and a large parts bill.

The first step in almost all testing it to check for DTCs in the related modules. If the dealer did not do that, you need to find a new dealer. That's the basics of any diagnosis.

However, they may have checked for DTCs and none may have been present, or the DTCs that were present lead to an issue with the wiring/harness or the mirror assembly. If no DTCs are found, the tech then needs to diagnose by Symptom. If DTCs were present, they may have lead to a harness issue, which is why they referenced a damaged wire.

The complexity of any concern can vary, there is no single solution to every issue. That is why diagnosis is always required.

As far as the amount of time required to diagnose/repair the issue and the loaner car, that doesn't sound like good customer service. Diagnosis should take less than a day, repairs should only take a day (depending on parts availability), and a loaner car should be available. Might want to call around to some other dealers that may be able to offer you better customer service.
