Selling FP Door Sill?

I got a PM of a polite gentleman asking if I'd be willing to sell my door sills.

Anyone else?

I politely responded no. But I'm confused...

Who would actually sell the OEM material from their 350?

Am I the only one that got this email? I suppose I'm confused as everything I've ever posted here represents nothing other than being completely enamored with my car. I'd never even entertain this.

I get that the gentleman was looking to provide his car with a nice "enhancement ". And I'm I responded accordingly. But I could never imagine ever selling any piece of my ride. And it doesn't really compute.

The MY 17 sill plates are rather cheap looking. They just say Ford Performance on them. The 16 plates are much nicer and are available new but are ~350 bucks. I got a set on eBay for a good price.

I agree about selling parts off my car. I keep every single OEM part that I replace. I even kept the resonators and heat shields.

Agree, you will be able to pick up a set of oem wheels anytime down the
line if you want to restore car to original. Put the $ forwards a new set
is a sound idea. And yes, door sills, same thing....

Keeping original parts on this car isn't a must. If he part isn't serialized personally to your car then it can easily be bought from the ford performance or accessory catalog, and will be available for years. Sell them and use the money to offset the cost of new upgrades.

Remember, parts aren't always available years down the road. It's insanely hard to find a 2003 Cobra 10th Anniversary steering wheel. Parts will probably be available 10 years down the road but what about after that? I'm never getting rid of my OEM parts.

Agreed, but that is a bit of an extreme example. That's a limited edition of a limited edition for one year only.

This is true. Just saying that it's possible and not to assume parts will be available. Is it likely? Probably not. But I'm not taking the risk. I think I'm just pissed that I can't find that steering wheel because I want it so bad for my '95 :frusty:

I wish I had purchased a set of 2000 Cobra R Recaros before the prices shot to the moon. I was forced to buy second hand and paid dearly for them.

I've been debating getting the 15/16 door sill, I like how it lists some of the vehicle info on there.
