18' Door Sills

Curious to know if the 18'door sills continued with the same as the FP 17' sills.

Was there ever any news why the 16' sills were discontinued with the start up of the 17' model year?

Don't know about the 18 year but wish they would have continued the 16 door sill. I think they looked way better.

Can't comment on why the '16 sills were changed but I can tell you I have seen MY18 a 350 and a R and they both have the FP MY17 sills.

I too love the 2015 and 2016 type door sills and don't care for the later "Ford Performance" ones of the 2017 and up.

Anyone have any idea what kind of 2 sided tape is used to attach the door sills? I assume the used ones I have coming will have all the 'stick' long gone....

Look into 3M. Seems that they have a very good quality double sided tape. If memory is correct it is $$$ but well worth it.

I found leftover new set for my '19, but have used red 3M tape on other things and better than OEM. With tape and clips, they are not falling off.

Oh you can get them off but do not overuse the 3M tape as it will just make it harder to get them off. BTW, I use the 3M VHB. Bought a big role and use it as needed on lot of things. You can remove VHB tape using WD-40 or Goo Gone and elbow grease.

Just ordered a pair for my 2017 this morning before seeing this thread, haha. My first GT350 was a 2016 and it does not seem right when I open the door and see the Ford Performance sills. My old Raptor had the same FP sills. Would be nice if they were unique to the car.

Oh he meant 18" (inch) not 18' (feet). Was curious to see where an 18 foot long door sill would fit on a Mustang 2 door.
