Yeah, apparently "topping off" is a bad thing to do. I learned not to top off with my first Infiniti, which could have issues with it as well.
Topping off the fuel can and will damage the evaporative purge valve and/or che vapor canister. Both can cause the engine to idle roughly, run poorly and sometimes even cause non run issues. It will often throw a CEL but sometimes not in the early stages of failure.

Just for updating my status. I am glad to say that the Check Engine Light have not come back again and i have refill the Gas Tank twice since the issue arrived so i think i am good to go.

Regarding the Hose, it arrived yesterday so i will return it to TASCA PARTS.

Thanks for everyone's feedback. Conclusion, seems that the overfill was the culprit.

Well, lovely. Was out driving today and the SEL light popped up. Ford Pass app is telling me it's the evaporative emission system AGAIN.

So back to the dealer we go.

So, took my Mustang in again for the evaporative emission system. An interesting tidbit I learned is that in the first round, they had to enlist Ford's engineering team to figure out what was going on.

I'm pretty convinced that they screwed something up the first time around, because the car hasn't felt right to me since (e.g., lots of throttle lag that I wasn't experiencing prior). I have no idea what they did, but hopefully they'll get it right this time. Fingers crossed.

Are the mechanics named Huey, Dewey and Louie?

Wouldn't surprise me a bit. If they don’t get it right this time, obviously, I’ll be off to a different dealer.

So, finally got an update from the dealer. This time, they've identified the canister purge valve as the culprit and the part comes in tomorrow. Interestingly, a quick search says that a problem with this part can cause a variety of problems related to the wrong amount of air entering the engine.

That includes rough performance, less power, and poor acceleration (i.e., what I was calling "throttle lag"), which correlates with what I'd been experiencing. Fingers crossed that this actually fixes the problem this time and also resolves the performance issues.

Okay, finally got the Mustang back from the dealer. Immediately noticed that performance seems to be back to where it was before this all started. The throttle response seems normal again, off the line I'm actually kicking the tail a little when I accelerate hard in Sports+ mode and hitting the throttle for passing and such is quicker.

I don't think it's just placebo.
