If you saw the way people beat on rental cars, you wouldn’t want one. Maybe one can find a good one here or there, but let’s be honest, a rental Mustang is almost certainly going to have been beat on.

Kona Blue, option 3, final answer. Beautiful color too.

I definitely agree that buying a rental car is a bit of a risk. This is especially true with a performance car like a Mustang. I probably would not do it myself.

But on the flip side, my father always bought used rental cars and actually had quite good luck with them. Of course, he always seemed to seek out the most boring of all possible four door sedans in the most boring of all colors with absolutely no interest or appeal whatsoever :)

Let's be honest, most any mustang is going to have been beat on.

Just read the threads on this forum.

Exactly this!
Just ask about break-in. You'll be swamped with people saying to ignore Fords guidelines and just go balls to the wall. And constant threads about major mods. I mean who adds 200+ hp with a super charger to buy groceries? Or tracking one. Is there anything more demanding of a car?
Oh, and ask what's the fastest you've had the car. Or street racing. Everyone gives lip service to how bad it is but there are dozens of threads subtlety-and not so subtlety-bragging about their exploits.

Yeah, I'd be far more comfortable with a former rental than a lot of cars on the fourms.

Another reason I won’t buy a random used muscle car unless I know of or can be sure of a good history. Plenty of people sell great cars to upgrade or just relieve a financial obligation. An unowned rental car with no responsibility on the drivers behalf to exercise any care at all, on vacation to have fun almost certainly guarantees no one cared about the vehicle beyond its current monetary value. Instead of wondering if one owner took care of the car and didn’t beat the crap out of it, now you have that times 300+ or whatever the amount of rental drivers to consider.

Then they expect Ford to warranty it.:cwl:
