Wow the way this is going for you is absolutely mind blowing! I’m a service tech at BMW and we would never tell someone to go to a different dealer, for warranty work or customer pay, outside of some aftermarket / non-OEM thing someone had done elsewhere that they are asking to be warranted. The OEM vehicle warranty is applicable at any dealer, and ford corporate absolutely can force a dealer to fix the problem. They have many options to squeeze the dealer, if need be. The dealer has to follow the ford franchise rules, as a legal obligation.

I only popped into this thread as I started to notice a similar thing in my seat when cornering and wanted to see what anyone knew about it before I started to look into it myself. Hopefully you get to the bottom of it.

The other dealer will not service it for this, said take it back to original dealer on a 3 way call with customer service supervisor.
So..... why not take it to the selling dealer?

You should never be forced to take it to the original dealer. What if you move across the country? You lose your warranty? “Sorry, we can’t work on your car here in Arizona, take it back to New Hampshire where you bought it.”

These are good reasons, but if Ford and the dealer that does not want to fix it says to go to the selling dealer.......

Get the damn thing fixed then fight it in court.

Call the Ford 800# again, ask to speak to a Supervisor as suggested and tell them you want your Case # elevated that the wobbly seat is causing safety concerns while driving.

You have to be firm but professional in your tone and make it a SAFETY issue...

They (Ford) can recommend taking the car to another Service Center near you IF your existing Service Center is not correcting (or able to correct) the problem. You can also request that you want a Ford FSE be sent to the Service Center to check out your claim, because FSE can over rule Tech.

So, back on topic, I took a look at mine and bulletin number 20-2171 applied to my car, and I verified the problem addressed by it is occurring on my seat. Lateral movement / clunk when cornering. If you look under the seat at the front mechanism cross tube and apply force sideways back and forth (lateral) you can see it move about a couple millimeters each way. The fix, I shit you not, is to put some heater hose on the tube and hold it on with a hose clamp, effectively making a soft end stop so the clunk is either less noticeable, or so it doesn’t move as far. I’m not going to take it to ford to do this retrofit, I’d rather do it myself. Since it’s not a broken part and not likely to get worse, I’m in no hurry. I’ll get to it soon enough.

Heard from dealer today, they contacted Ford tech, result since tsb did not fix Ford is sending both seat tracks, seat to be disassembled and minimum 6 hours, wants me to leave it but I am 30 miles away and looks like I have to hang around as Ford me not supply courtesy vehicle or rental. Hopefully they will put everything back together properly and it works.

Pop the plastic caps out yourself before your visit using the method I posted above - it might save you some marks on the plastics from the dealer tech attacking them with a screwdriver :like:
