Scraped my tail pipe.

I scraped the tip of my flow master exhaust. Anybody know how I can smooth it out? Or make it look a little better.

Scrape the rest of the lip to match, one of a kind that way.

Or spray it with some VHT paint and clear or just some black nail polish to see how noticeable of a difference that is.

The tailpipe is actually chrome they’re just really dirty in the picture.

You can sand down the lip with fine sand paper, I would run some masking tape around the very edge of the tip except the scraped section, use some 2500 grit, 3000 grit then 5000 grit sand paper to smooth out the edge. Use the 2500 just to kind of deburr it so to speak when its smooth enough to the touch move onto the 3000, then 5000. If its polished stainless it should smooth out and be presentable. It will carbon up anyway. If its chrome plated steel it may rust but the only way to tell really is to just sand it down till you get to the finest grit and see how the finish looks. Hopefully is polished stainless steel. from the product pages it is listed as:

From there you would need to use some sort of polishing compound, but I would not go that far, just get it presentable around the very edge only. IF you are worried about symmetry you can do the same treatment on the other tip so they match a little but just the very edge of the tip all the way around. It cannot look any worse so.

Silver or black chrome? Just making sure because those look 100% black to me! If it's silver, a good sanding or wool polish will do the job. Black chrome doesn't have the same options :(
