I don't think there is any safe warranty friendly 50+ bang for buck mod
I would say GT350 Intake manifold/drop in filter/use stock TB. For the money you will get a lot.

Isn't the GT350 intake mani for gains mostly at the top of the rpm range? I would be a LOT more interested in something that would give more "street friendly" power in the 2000-5500rpm range with more torque to boot....

I went with an Airaid CAI intake (no tune) and FRPP x pipe and this opened the beast up.
I craved more so I have Kooks Headers, Solo Mach XV, nGauge on order.
I'll soon have the x pipe for sale.

From what I recall from that long as heck thread, there were only two guys that had actually done that mod? Although I think they both had it working without issue. Tempting for sure.

My thoughts:
Air intake and catback - 5HP-7HP
Above + Tune - 20-35 HP
Above + Long Tube Headers -30-45HP
Above + TB + GT350 Manifold - 40-60HP (maybe more if you do cams or raise the limiter a lot)
I dont think any of these mods will improve low end (sub 5500) HP or torque. Maybe the tune will (I think the FRPP Pro-Cal Tune on the 2011-2014's claimed 50-80 pounds feet of torque increase), but not sure so you might want to check.

I will not do LTH for the PITA with emissions/price/loudness/gas smell, but may do GT350 manifold, TB, air intake and tune to complement my catback. Not sure, as I dont really rev my car that much to make it worth it.

I will say this though, the JMS Pedal-MAX made a HUGE improvement in how quick the car feels daily driving. HUGE. It's an insane bang for the buck mod. No power gains, but the throttle mapping did wonders. That combined with a nice catback will make your car feel very quick (esp if you have the 3.73 ratio), even though it doesnt really change quarter mile times. Unless you competitively race, feeling is everything. There's always something faster out there.

Sucks, but I'm with you. Really wish there was a way to get 50+ HP with warranty friendly mods. Also sucks that I don't believe any of the CAI installs do anything but make you feel good.

hi guys. i'm awaiting my 2016 GT black fastback. ive read about all of the mods yall are doing so in a few words what's the best bang for the buck for a daily drive to get more HP and better sound? don't want to go supercharge/ turbo. thanks, tom
Several tuners have flex fuel tunes available which lets you run normal gas or choose to full up with E85 and get an additional 10hp ontop of the benefits of a tune.

A Flex fuel tune, headers and exhaust should net you about 50rwhp, 60rwhp if you choose to go catless.

Big debate on whether a CAI actually benefits your car, I'd suggest instead of opening that can of worms here just search the probably dozen or more threads that have been posted here.

One more thing to consider, a manifold/fuel injectors and possible a throttle body. The GT350 manifold can crank out some serious power on the top end. Not sure if you'd call this safe, as they do push the rev limiter a few hundred rpms higher. But you can get some serious hp out of this setup. Pretty sure some N/A GT's are running 121/122 trap speeds with all of the above. Pretty sick imo.

You could always give Ford your soul or your first born child for a supercharger installed by your local dealership. It'll give you 50+ hp ;)

I actually went this route as well. The manifold is very straight forward but currently am only running the stock throttle body. Lund (like others) is still working to revise the tune for the 350TB. The 350TB seemed a little more responsive in higher RPMs, but I will gladly trade that for the streetable usage of the stock TB (until they have zero'd out the surge). Overall, I've been really impressed with it and Lund's tune has been like driving an entirely different car. Headers may offer up a better bang for the buck though.
