Even with the S550 having seriously less wheel gap than the SN95, look at how much taller the car sits. I drew a line at the bottom of the glass line on the SN95 to compare it to the S550. My biggest gripe with newer cars is the much less visibility of previous models.

I agree. The camera angle should be different. If you were to draw a line that ran with the bottom of the wheels under both cars you'd see that the two lines were not parallel. I don't doubt that the S550 is still taller yet, but not by as much as this photo suggests.

Now slip it next to a Fox. Here are two of ours:

No need to wonder why these don't weigh under 3000 pounds anymore.

Extend it the same way the top line is. I'm guessing if you were to extend the line left under the S550 you'd notice that it would bank up to stay adjacent to the back wheel. I'm just pointing out that it looks like the cars aren't parked in such a way as to correctly show the distinction you're trying to make. I completely agree with you that there's less glass to look out of, though.

Well, how do we know the SN95 hasn't been lowered? I find it hard to believe this new car sits taller. The factory specs for the height of the SN95 must be floating around out there to compare.

Also the stupid black wheels on the 2015 don't help in trying to appreciate the difference in the wheel gap.

This Is What... To begin with, It's clear that because the bottom edge of the front tires Do Not Line Up that the SN95 on the right is further away from the sidewalk than the S550 on the left. Not to mention that the S550 is sitting at an angle with the back further away from the camera, whereas the SN95 is sitting more even front and rear. So just because you draw a Straight Line across the bottom of the side windows it is irrelevant because the cars arent staged properly.

The bottom line is that this is a far from scientific comparison. But I'm sure the SN95 is slightly lower.

But this thread is confusing. I'm trying to understand the correlation that was drawn by the OP between the ride height and visibility? Are you trying to imply that because the S550 sits a tad higher it should have a larger DLO?

Have you actually sat in an S550 to see if it's even an issue?
