Ignoring the interior on both cars, which side has the better stock internals? They say the boss has gen 2 internals but I heard it can handle MORE than the coyote can before giving out.

What side do you choose?

Boss 302 (2012-2014) Valve Springs fail (car will run but power is flat) if car was Tracked and lived close to 7000rpm. Plus Connecting Rods should be replaced as well.

IMO the 2021 M1 Engine is WAY stronger, more HP, Torque then Boss 302. Don't get me wrong, back in the day the Boss 302 was awesome, technology and 10 years of development makes the new engine way better.

Do you think the gen 3 coyote is really better than the gen 2 and Boss by that much? Even when boosting?

Correct me if I’m wrong but I think the gen2 and gen3 coyote use the same valve springs and rods as the B302

Hard to compete with the gen3 NA. Boosted on pump gas, gen2 shines. Boosted on higher octane fuel, they’re both great.

Boosting is a totally different story, however, I would say you need even more strength in the internals. So yes gen3 way better.

I'm trying to figure out which is the best one to whipple supercharge and not go e85, yet, I guess gen 2 is the way to go.:like:

The Gen 2 coyote is sort of a continuation of the boss 302 "roadrunner" engine. It has the same valve springs, rods, and I think also crank (don't quote me on that) as the Boss 302. They also advertised that the as-cast Gen 2 heads flowed the same as the Boss 302 CNC ported heads. If you're staying with a traditional fuel system and 8 port injectors then the Gen 2 is the way to go. The gen 3 is pretty rowdy though. They improved the head flow a good bit.

You won’t go wrong with either. If you’re on pump gas the gen2 is a great choice, and will do very well on E. Having said that, if you’re looking at an auto you have another major factor in your decision since they’re also different.

.. buddy of mine has a new M1 and Boss 302. Says they are entirely different cars. With the red key the coyote shakes, rumbles and crackles out the side exhaust. Says it feels raw and rowdy to drive, entirely different than the M1 and if he had to choose the B302 any day, just feels WAY more like a muscle car than the M1 does.
