I recently became the owner of a 2019 GT in Need for Green. When I was purchasing the car, a check showed up that it was "red". Looking it over carefully, it was obvious that it had never had a colour change, so I thought little of it. When completing the paperwork at the dealership, I noticed that their invoice stated that the car was "Maroon". A subsequent chat with a previous owner revealed that when they had come to trade in the car, it was noticed that the log book stated it was red, so a request was made with the DVLA to correct it (it had taken 2 owners and 5 years for this to be noticed apparently).
Anyway, the point of this thread is that today I was randomly browsing old Mustang reviews from 2019 and I spotted another Need for Green car in an article's photos. Just out of interest (because I'm keen to know how many UK NfG cars are around) I thought I'd do a vehicle lookup on this one - and guess what - it came up as "Maroon" on the check!
Does anyone have any insight into why this might be? Any other NfG owners with a similar story? It seems to me to be unlikely that it's just first dealer error if there is more than one of them; and the online car was registered in a different part of the country to mine.
I'm prepared to accept that it might just be a big coincidence, as another 2 NfG cars that I found photos of and checked both came up as green (unless the owners had had their logbooks corrected...).
