I was messing around with my RTD+ and trying to datalog with a laptop for my own personal use, not sending to the tuner but the options of PIDS to watch are very few. I tried some coyote configs I found and most of the stuff is greyed out. I was hoping I could see the inferred MAP along with some other things but basically my only options are STFT, LTFT, ECT, IAT, Timing, Knock and basic stuff, was also hoping there was a fuel pressure pid to look at but i'm not sure if the 15-17 platform has that ability. Anyone do any of their own datalogging with a RTD+

The rtd is limited and 15-17 doesn’t read fuel pressure. Get the mpvi2

I'm assuming it isn't limited for the tuner? Just the end user. Would I need to get credits with the mpvi2 just to datalog?

You'd pay a $100 for the 2 credits to license if you want to save changes to your tune. Otherwise logging and reading the tune is free after you buy the mpvi2.

I think the issue is probably that your tuner uses a custom OS ID to lock the tune. When VCM scanner can't identify the OS, it defaults to standard OBD2 SAE PIDs that any datalogger can read. You need to get the OS code from your tuner to unlock all of the Ford specific PIDs. When I started datalogging, my tuner sent me these instructions. However, I ended up doing my datalogging with a MPVI2 because it was already setup for my laptop. I had to do this for the MPVI2 just to get the right PIDs to show up, so I assume the RTD is the same.

Tuners locking computers so the owners can not use them is B.S I understand that they need to protect there work but not at the expense of my car. They basically locked you out of your own property. You can’t even take it to a shop to get worked on if they have to plug into it
