Stay away from octanium....it is NOT recommended to run octanium with unleaded gas
Running it everyday in 3 different vehicles here. Makes huge difference and I tested against Torco, NOS, Royal Purple and Lucas. Octaniumn no doubt made huge difference. Plugs are still good on the Mustang, I have another 4200 miles on it with a can per tank.

Can someone educate me regarding Knock Activity? Is there a safe range for Forced Induction systems?

Below are my past experiences when performing Datalogs with the current modifications at the time. I do have all logs saved if anyone is interested to review.

Prior to Whipple Upgrade
- Mods: JLT Intake with Bama 93 Performance Tune and Ford Racing Borla Sport Catback. All other mods unrelated as it still on the vehicle. 93 octane in the tank (mixed 91 and 100 octane to make 93)
- Datalog: File name "Screenshot_20160211.jpg". My last datalog before the Whipple Upgrade, I experienced 2.25 degrees of knocking. This is after I re-tightened exhaust bolts, checked intake and TB for any loose bolts.

After Whipple Install
- Mods: Whipple Stage 2 Kit (74 lb Inj, Dual Fans, Upgraded Intercooler pump, 6-rib, 132mm TB), FR Borla Sport Catback. 93 Octane in the tank and knock limiting off on Flare device
- Datalog: File name "Screenshot_20160325.jpg". I experienced 0.74 degrees of knocking on 3rd gear WOT.

Most Recent Datalog
- Mods: Whipple Stage 2 Kit plus 0.025" Bypass Restrictor, Stock Exhaust and 91 Octane in tank with Knock limiting off on Flare device.
- Datalog: File name "Screenshot_20160529.jpg". I experienced 2.39 and 1.84 degrees of knocking on 3rd and 4th gear WOT, respectfully.

Is this a concern or is it typical?
What this means is that this is how the system is designed and it's working as normal. You are adding and subtracting. It's pushing the spark until it knocks then brining it back, meaning you are at or near peak timing and cylinder pressure for your given octane. Higher octane or lower temps (higher flowing exhaust) can help or higher octane. But there is zero wrong with what you have or see there.

Does anyone have any technical backgrounds that can help me understand if positive knock activity is of concern? Is this caused by the Whipple tune or is there something up with my car?
91 vs 93 octane is about 5-6 deg of timing, everything else equal due to the octane and burn times. On 91 octane it can't handle the same timing so the knock system is more active but it is also adding in your log so you are fine. Just real world conditions with our good ol 91.....

Thank you for the clarification, you guys are awesome! I'm considering the fuel additive octanium but I do have stock cats and unsure if it'll do damage in the long run. Considering high flow cats or long tubes to let the car breathe better.

The tune is doing its job. Have you tried VP octinuman the booster? Im guessing poor fuel quality
I'm considering it now but I'm getting misleading information as the links below contradict one another. I do have my stock cats but Borla Sport catback. Unsure if this additive will do damage to my cats. Considering high flow cats or long tubes

Yeah, I saw that about the o2s and cats on their website.

I'm actually going to test octanium and torco in 93 oct with my octane tester. I what to see how much they really raise the octane.
Let us know what you find out
