With the GT500 coming out I do not think the GT350 will retain as much value as one might think. The 5.0 runs great with a superchrger but an NA 18 or 19 with a tune will run about as fast as a 15-17 Roush. I prefer the amenities of a premium car that most likely will be missing in a GT350. As said above unless you are going to be road racing and running this car to 8 grand a lot I do not see any benefit to the GT350. In a straight line a Roush will destroy it and the handling is not horrible. The new autos are awesome too I have a 6R80 and I have driven a couple 10R80 they are even better especially when tuned. I know this will ruffle a lot of feathers on here but humans can not out shift the computers anymore. Put your cooled seats on throw in a CD and go out terrorize the neighborhood.

I'm in this boat now...trying to decide between the RS3 and a GT350. I test drove a 19 RS3 and loved it. Still need to test a GT350. I'd love a GT500, but it's a bit too much $$ for me to swallow, especially with ADM running rampant. I'm also disappointed with the Mach 1. I hoped it would be at least as much HP as the car it's meant to replace, the GT350.

The GT350's strong point will be handling and track performance while the RS3 is strong point will be straight line performance. That being said, the GT350 still has excellent acceleration and the RS3 has decent handling capabilities.

You can run the GT350 and the Roush at the 1/4 mile drag strip all day with the Roush being about a full second quicker and 10 mph faster. That's a pretty big difference. The blower obviously makes the Roush really shine in the acceleration department.

You can also run them both around a track, but I believe the Roush is going to start to suffer from heat soak. In this case the blower is a bit of a disadvantage for running around the track for extended periods of time because of the heat generated from the blower. It would definitely need some cooling modifications for extended track time.

I didn't want to spend the money on the Roush so I bought a GT with the Roush 727 HP package (Identical to the RS3) on it. It has all of the HP of the Roush without the Roush appearance or handling.

An excellent way to accelerate catastrophic failure on these cars.
Hennessey sell you their supercharger packages with warranty, meaning, it can be done without issues if done properly. Same thing with a regular GT... it can be all good or it can be a boom... doing everything the right way and using a safe tune, you shouldn't have issues

Huge difference between a regular GT and a GT350. The GT350 utilizes a non-FI friendly 12:1 compression ratio with port injection. Flat plane V8's also vibrate more than a standard cross plane crank V8.

I'd take a look at what Ford did to their 5.2 on the GT500 to make it reliable, compression lowered to 9.5:1 and going to a cross plane V8.

The voodoo is a wonderful engine in its factory format but probably the worst for a boost application out of it an the Coyote 2 & 3.

Just because Hennessey sells you something doesn't mean its ideal. They are pure aftermarket and don't work with the factory like Roush or Ford Performance does.

Who did you go through for the upgrade? Is the engine warranted?

the gt350 and the gt500 have different engines... same block, different crankshaft design blah blah blah...

I just named hennessey just to give an example... whipple, vortech, procharger, they all offer supercharger options... as i said... everything depends on a good tune

Just because the aftermarket does it means its fine then? You can't tune out inherent design issues.

Mine is a 2016 that I bought used with 2,000 miles on it this past May. So I don’t have a warranty anymore. The original owner bought the car new with one of the LFP packages sold at Lebanon Ford. The Roush packages have a 3 year 36,000 mile warranty included from Roush. Looks like their Whipple offering has a warranty also.
