Damn this thread has really killed my excitement for possibly buying a 727 Mustang from Lebanon Ford at the end of the year. Time to look at other options unless this Phase II tune and hardware change actually corrects these issues.

I'm running the new tune and have no issues
Can there be more power via a custom tune ? I think yes
Can they get rid of some of the nannies? Yes

But I get sideways in second to third as it is. I can't keep up with how fast it is already so yes I am happy as it is

I'll dyno the car I have once the weather chills out around here. It's hot to say the least

Am I correct in saying the newest tune/fixes for the phase two is still not available for phase one?
Glad some of you guys are getting better results.

Move forward with the purchase! Mine runs great. And Lebanon/Charlie Watson are first class. If you want more power, spend another $700 and get Nguage with Lund tune!

I've been very happy with the roush stage 1 kit and tune, purchased straight firm the dealer in Akron Ohio. No drivability problems. I'm sure I could get more power from a custom tune and may do it even though the car is under warranty. So from what I gather after reading this thread, my two options for going with an aftermarket tune are:

1) go with ken at pbd, using an SCT device to remove the roush tune and return it to stock, then load ken's custom tune and rip ass

2) go with Lund and a ngauge and flash right over the roush tune to the Lund custom tune and rip ass

Any thing that I missed?

I have a phase 1 and I would strongly recommend taking it it the track before doing any thing other than stickies and front runners mine went 11.32, 11.34 11.27 between 125.44 and 126.83. The DA was 2480. I am very confident the car will go tens clearly it has enough Mph for the 10s

Ok, just got back from a test drive with the new NGK plugs (6510) Roush sent me. This fixed all my issues I had with the hesitation, throttle response, and exhaust popping when shifting gears. Throttle is crisp, responsive and idle is perfect. There were no codes (P061b) like before. This thing rides perfect and the new phase 2 tune seems to be on point. I gapped the plugs at .032 if anyone is wondering. Thanks again to Charlie Watson from Lebanon Ford who went out of his way, and Chris and Jake from Roush.

Glad you got it working !

I may try this first before a tune assuming this plug and gap apply to phase 1 setup.

I agree. Those TVS cars are fast!

Glad you got it to where you want it. Sounds like a killer car. Enjoy.

Makes me chuckle that no one has Mentioned VMP who makes the bigger inlet of the roush style blower. "Gen 2"
All of their cars regularly make 600+ through an auto with CATS
And 620+ stick with cats
And drives like stock and uses all of the points the car should use.

Look around and do some shopping. Many Many tuning options out there.

You are correct sir.
VMP tuning is a great company with a great tuner/founder in Justin Starkey.
Plus, as you mentioned, their products are great. VMP works very closely with Roush as well.

Maybe I missed this in the thread but.... What kinda numbers is the VMP TVS capable of efficiently? I figure it can do 18-19psi and still not be a complete heat pump? What should that equate to power wise?
