Hey guys,
So I'm pretty sure the Roush active exhaust valves on my car are busted, I tried to open them today and even restarting the car a couple of times didn't work. Car is close to 9K miles and has a bumper to bumper warranty, so I will try to get the issue sorted out with the Dealership I do warranty service with.
Now, in the mean time, I need to drive the car daily for a couple of weeks before I have the time slot and availability to have it looked at by the service dept.
My main question:
Will driving the car with these valves closed create back pressure? Car has a Roush blower and their phase 2 kit so it should be at around 620WHP (albeit at like 6K+ RPM with a hard 7K RPM limit/fuel cut) it has the stock Roush tune.
I rarely push the car to it's limits, but if the event came up, I don't want to push the car for it to lose power to back pressure or even worse, cause engine damage.
PS: Tried searching for the issue here and it's a common issue with these exhaust kits it seems, although no one spoke about back pressure or engine damage if pushed to its limit with valves closed so that's why I created this thread.
Thanks all.
