Not very happy with the ride quality on this car. It has the 19 inch wheels with 40 series Pirelli P Zero Nero all season tires. The ride on broken pavement or frost heaves is extremely bad. I previously had a 2014 V6 Convertible with 50 series tires on 17 inch wheels and the ride was far better. I’d think being a new generation car with IRS the 2020 would be a better riding car. My friends have commented that it rides terrible. Maybe Ford could sell more Mustangs if they’d realize that not everyone wants a super stiff suspension. They should at least optionally offer a softer one. I’d honesty take my 2014 back in a heartbeat. The engine sounded better and the 6 speed auto was much better behaved too. The 2020 looks nicer inside and out though.

Would help if you mentioned what options you had. Is this a base? Premium? HPP?

Has it occurred to you that there might be an issue with your car? Maybe a visit to your dealer could help sort things out.

I'd suggest going -1 in the tire & wheel size, and getting a soft-riding tire. Or just searching for the best ride comfort tire in the size you already have. Pirelli P Zeros have stiff side walls, and ride like shit. Maybe some Contis or Michelins.

Check tirerack.com, as their reviews by actual customers/users are priceless in aiding purchase decisions.

How about just worn-out tires? The OP's car is years old now, the tires might be shot.

Title says 2020 EB convertible, yet his description says 2016 EB convertible.
If the latter , then yes, he needs to get his car in for a check up.

I have 19in in my '16 EB and ride is not ROUGH as he describes, non PP. Of course I switched the pirelli p zeros AS (that I agree SUCK)...but if not mistaken , 19- 20 in would NOT provide "comfort" rides, and 17 - 18 in would be better. But the way he is describing his "RIDE COMFORT" sounds like an issue lol so even is its a 2020 id take it in for check up....

Check your tire pressure. I have the same set up as you. My tires were over-inflated when I took delivery, the ride suffered until checking the pressure....what a change it is now. I find it very comfortable and compliant.

It’s a 2020 EcoBoost Premium with standard suspension, but the optional 19 inch wheels. No doubt the 40 series tires are part of the issue. I have them inflated a couple pounds UNDER the recommendation of 33 to try to smooth the ride. I don’t get how people think I’m talking about an older car, nor did I mention a 2016. I stated my former 2014 rode a lot better.

31 trying to help the ride. It did help some but it’s still pretty bad on any bumpy roads. I literally have to plan my pleasure drives to be on the smoothest roads possible. The 2014 was much more enjoyable. The 40 series tires may be a lot of my issue. I rented these in 2015 and 2016 and don’t recall the the ride being a lot different than my 2014 felt.

It’s a 2020. It’s just a bad setup. Nothing wrong with it.

Ignore the 2016 from when I signed up. I was discussing a 2016 RENTAL with the driveshaft vibration issues lol. Thankfully Ford finally solved that one.

contis have much softer sidewalls. the 18" EB base wheels will still take the 4-pot GT brakes (about 4mm clearance) if you were thinking of doing that combo. I see a better grade of damper in your future.
