When your Shelby finally makes its way into your driveway, will you be taking it on any road trips? As of now I have two in mind. 1) The Arkansas Gumball Rally. 2) One I've wanted to do for the longest time, drive Route 66 the entire length. What about you?

As long as the temps don't drop too low when it arrives the first road trip will be from the dealer to my house...700 miles. Maybe more if my research finds a great strip of curvy road between Indiana and NY.

My drive home, if I decide to go that route and not have it trailered, would take me right through the Tail of the Dragon. I'm considering driving it just to go through there as I've never been but have always wanted to go.

Oh you have to do it. I did it in a Ford Excursion, not the best vehicle to do it in.

Would drive it from home in VA to visit family in Austin, then maybe drive the rest of the way to California to run the coast highway.

I'll be road tripping from the dealer in OK back home to CA. May try to set up a private lesson at the Ron Fellows school depending on how the timing works out. Should have a little over 1000 miles on the car at that point. Should be a fun trip even if the driving school doesn't work out.

This except the drive is much longer.

I did this on my Yamaha R1. It is amazing. One of the very few public roads where I had tire marbles form. They do a great job keeping the roads up. Just keep an eye on your speed as the police presence has really kicked up in recent years.

I'll actually be passing through there as well assuming weather holds and the delivery is not in the heart of winter.

My default road trip is St. Louis to orlando florida. 1,088 miles each way.

I have done that trip 20 times in the last 25 years in 7 different cars.

I can tell a lot about a car on that road trip.

Mine would be from Indiana to Miami. We're trying to get back up to GA though so it's possible my cruise would be a little shorter. Either way I'd take a detour through the Tail and Hellbender 28

I'll probably have to buy new tires after my first road trip, the 24 Hours of California, cause I won't be sleeping that day.
