Round trip completed. ~ 25 hours, 1750 miles and 22mpg. Car was a blast. On the way home did a four hour stretch on two lane highways. 526hp Voodoo + wide open roads + little traffic == easiest passing of my life.

Did end up having a brief discussion with a Colorado State Trooper, but thankfully he only saw me cruising and not while coasting down from a passing exercise. Let me off with a written warning (whew). Given that he whipped a u-turn as soon as he saw me cruising by at 73mph, its possible that someone gave them a heads up I was on my way. As tempting as it is to cruse those open back highways at triple digit speeds, glad I wasn't.

Now to spend an evening scraping bugs off my front end. Embark on my 3000 mile long trip in a couple weeks. Car is pretty fun closer to sea level.

So 73 in a 65 and he tracks you down? Tough but thankfully only a warning. One of these days I promise myself I'm going to keep it within 10mph of limit and drive responsibly like the older man I am but hard to resist temptation.
Sometimes it seems that backroads are riskier because no one is running interference and not so wide open for longer range radar detection. Interstates with "herds", like the plains in Africa for predators, might decrease the chances they focus on you rather than someone else especially with a radar detector that can give up to a two mile warning.

The 350 is pretty good on road trips. I do carry some oil though, as you will not find the correct oil at a gas station. I just ordered the spare tire kit too, with the spacer.

Yup, carried two quarts of oil and some octane booster just in case. Thankfully never needed to use them.

Ohhhhhhh ... heading on another one soon. That sounds much easier than the 40 minutes it took me to scrub those bastards off.
