2018 base GT manual 2800 miles. Moving from NW Arkansas back to the Phoenix area 1250 miles. My longest trip so far is 100 miles driving home from the dealer. What mileage and fuel range should I expect?
Probably run around 80 mph. I did figure out how to use iHeart and Waze at the same time. Any thoughts? Hope my 67 year old ass holds up. Thanks

I'd figure on getting about 24 miles per gallon. If you keep it at 80mph you'll probably do a little better than that but it's a safe number to plan with.

Welcome back to the heat!

floor the shit out of the car every time you can, fuck the mpg.

that's the point of a nice open road... enjoy the views and drive the shit out of the car when you can... it's a whole package. Embrace it, enjoy it!

for great mpg and no fun, buy a corolla.

Da fuck you worried about MPGs and range for?

First, at your age, you're gonna need to get out of the car pretty often and take care of your business, stretch your legs. So range doesn't matter.

Second, it's a Mustang, not a Prius. Enjoy the drive and screw the MPGs.

I was wondering how many fuel stops which means how many launches down the on ramp. 🤔

In June of 2020, we drove from Phoenix to Tyson's Corner, VA and the car averaged 25.2ish mpg. I cruised around 80, it took 3 full days of driving and I had the car loaded with suitcases, two white fluffy dogs, and the wife.

It was bone stock at the time and had 800 total miles on it. It did great and I was very comfortable the entire trip.

About half the miles on my '16 are 1,000 mile days. Seats are comfortable, at least for me. Terrain matters but mid 20s for MPGs. Stay far enough behind traffic so pebbles thrown up fall back to the ground before you get there.

When do you get here?

p.s. My 11 YO son picked up a turtle about to get run over on the highway near you while on the way from Phoenix to a 4G F-body track day in Memphis. After a few days, he decided to let him go on the return drive and later regretted it. If you see a turtle answering to Cosmo, say hi or even better bring him with you.

I have XPEL on the nose already. Saved me a few times. Moving to Anthem. Lived there for about 7 years. Family matters brought us to the land of Walmart. Close on new house after Labor Day.

It depends of course. I had a 2013 Mustang GT with an automatic and a 315 rear end. I could cruise at 90,95 and get 22 to 23 mpg. Now I have a 2019 PP2 with a manual and 373 gears, and I get 20 maybe, and cruise at 80 to 85.

We take our '18 convertible everywhere. Never a 1200 mile one way trip but more 5 - 600 milers than I can remember. It's one of the more comfortable traveling vehicles I've ever owned. As long as you don't have any underlying health issues to make sitting long periods uncomfortable you won't have a problem.
It does always amuse me when a GT owner worries about gas milage though.

You have my deepest, most heart-felt condolences.

Not worried about the mileage but wondering what the fuel range would be.

How much range do you get now? Use that for a basis and you'll have more than enough grace on the highway to find fuel.
At 66 I find I have to stop far more often for personal reasons than I do for fuel. If you're seriously worried about having fuel, just top off then...

Heavy footing around town I’m only getting 13-15 mpg.
I guess they hold around 15 gallons.

Best guess is, the fuel rang is full to empty .... Not thinking you can get past empty.
