So on my first start up, dead cold, after 30 seconds or so, the sound in the video shows up. If I give it gas, it doesn’t really increase with Rpms. It’ll stop after a minute, and really only seems to happen after a cold start. 7000 miles on it. Doesn’t have bbq tick but does have the 2K piston slap. Thoughts? Otherwise, it really is a pretty quiet valvetrain. I’m not so worried as it seems a cold phenomena. It’s not as loud as the video makes it seem. Inside the car windows up you can’t hear it. Any thoughts? Had a 5.2 before (familiar with piston slap), new to the 5.0 though. Thanks.

I wouldn't worry about it. My 2018 GT has similar sounds and initially I was worried about it but most Gen 3 motors make some sort of ticking sound. Unless the motor starts to consume lots of oil or starts to show other odd behavior (not making power or a check engine light), I wouldn't stress over anything.

I’d check the following:

Check the trans block spacer plate, it’s a common issue across the S550 and F150 platform:
https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/threads/engine-transmission-plate-noise-fix.115718/

https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/th...hen-accelerating-hard-above-4000k-rpm.107728/

Check the emergency brake cable and attaching assembly found under the driver side trans tunnel. This has been a known source of metallic rattle as well and is hard to replicate unless in a certain RPM range. The cable is loose and raps against the trans tunnel under certain conditions OR could be touching exhaust mid pipe. How to adjust the cable and assembly:
https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/threads/how-to-adjust-your-parking-brake.25204/

If looking at both the e-brake and spacer plate from under the car, yes visually they will look “fine”, but take a closer look to make sure both are not a source of the rattle.

Check the driveshaft center support bearing assembly. There is a small aluminum plate attached to the bottom of it which comes loose and rattles - see this thread:
https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/threads/identify-this-metallic-rattle-🙏.161210/#post-3455184

If equipped with MT82, check this thread for the source of clunk/rattle coming from passenger side or under car:
https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/threads/found-source-of-clunk.133988/#post-3309826

Also check the exhaust piping from front to back to make sure the piping is not coming in contact with the body (trans tunnel, floor pans, trans mount, etc) and check all clamps too to also make sure those are secure and not rubbing on anything

Update on this. The noise can be best heard in the area I've circled. Towards the sides of the motor, and towards the back(windshield), it's less pronounced. To recap, dead silent for 20-30seconds after cold start, noise occurs, lasts 60-90 seconds, then is gone until car sits over night and is started again.
