How old are you?

Revving really long and hard = showing off and announcing to all within earshot that their car HAS BEEN MODDED!!!Driving along in heavy traffic (coming from work mainly), and another Mustang pulls up close to you, and revs really long and hard, so you can hear their exhaust.
Depending on the person, they can take your gesture in 1 of 2 ways. They think you are trying to be a douche by revving it or they think you are trying to say hi. Hard to say which way the person is going unless you know them.I'll give an 8 cylinder salute, but just a quick growl or 2. Yesterday I noticed a camaro a few cars behind me. I had to turn left so as I waited to turn he approached and I saw his windows were down, so as he passed he got a blip.
A Subaru WRX was next to me last night bouncing it off the limiter, BOV going crazy, I just looked at him.... then the motorcycle behind me revved his to the limiter.....Yeah.. imports are the worst. Had a Nissan GSX-R bounce it off his limiter beside me for 20 secs.. while the cop 2 cars back patiently waited
Is anybody impressed by this?? I'm not trying to be mean here but I thought this was idiotic in the 70's as well. Of course back then no limiter so real chance of blowing something.
Eh I don't see a quick rev on the road as douchey whether the person knows you or not. Here's one that is douchey - we live on a cul-de-sac in NJ and FL - here in NJ some guy in a gen 5 mustang basically floors it when he drives by our house, and in FL a guy down the street with a Camaro does the same thing. What's up with that?Depending on the person, they can take your gesture in 1 of 2 ways. They think you are trying to be a douche by revving it or they think you are trying to say hi. :lol:I have to admit, I was guilty of revving my engine last night...
of course nobody was around and I was in 4th...

They think you are a car guy and might like the sound of V8 exhaust. Unbeknownst to them you are prejudging them as douchey. Maybe you aren't much of a car guy.Eh I don't see a quick rev on the road as douchey whether the person knows you or not. I love the sound of the cars, that's not the "douchey" part. If they just revved it would be fine. It's the speeding on a residential street with kids, pets and old people puttering around. They think you are a car guy and might like the sound of V8 exhaust. Are their cars not special enough to be cool to you?
Edit: unless they are doing it at 5 am or past 10pm.
