Installing redline e brake and shift boot leather, broke a tab on the white reverse lockout collar. I need to replace that part but cannot remove without removing the pin holding the spring in place (yellow arrow in pic). How do I get that pin out? Is it pressed in? Is it screwed in there? I’m stucI and hesitant to break more parts. Thx in advance.

Can I put that pin back once it’s been removed?

Is there a better way to fix the broken tab on the white collar?

Thx but that video doesn’t cover this issue.

I need to replace the white plastic part below the Barton billet piece- the part that “receives“ and holds the Barton.

or I need a better way to fix this issue, JB weld the aluminum to the plastic??

Maybe get the part from someone who has replaced their shifter with an after market shifter.
I don't think epoxy will hold.
The pin comes out with a hammer and punch and can be reused.

Wait, watched the cj video ton the hurst shifter install. That video shows the pin being pressed out of the sfifter with a C clamp. I’m good now, should be able to replace the plastic part. Whew...

Awesome. Figured there was a video on CJ's, just couldn't see them to get you the right one. Next ones I was going to suggest were short shifter installs

Hey OP, where did you end up sourcing your broken collar piece? I broke the same tab on mine yesterday removing the lockout collar/shift boot.

I got the white plastic collar and the entire stock shifter from a forum member- he sent the leftover stock parts after his upgrade. Whole deal $30, saved my ass.. Should be another member out there that can hook u up. Lots of folks upgrade. Ford will only sell the whole shifter. Head to the. Classifieds..

Much appreciated! I'll hunt the classifieds. I was only coming up with the entire shifter assembly for like $300 from Ford and swore I was missing something. At least I now know it's as absurd as it seems.

You just need a roll pin punch that fits the pin correctly and tap it out.....it can be tapped right back in place.
