Hello,

A couple days ago while just starting normally from a stop, my lockout seemed to be failing. When going from 1st to 2nd and or attempting to go into 1st in general, the shifter would go into reverse without lifting up on the collar. Now I do have an MGW X-Spec on hand and won’t be able to get it installed for about 2 weeks so if anyone has seen this before is there a possible fix for this…? I’ve attached a video. It’s almost like the lockout sleeve is too high up to catch on the lockout metal “tab”. I also didn’t notice anything broken or chipped away when I took the rubber boot off.

I’ve got the same issue, did you ever find a fix?
Hey Sam, I found out the actual shifter sits on a rubberized stub. Get some leverage on the passenger side and put your weight down on shifter (preferably w/ the knob screwed on) and it will slowly bottom out. Sorta hard to explain… Once you do that you’ll notice your lockout finally start to catch the metal tab keeping you from going into reverse.

I’ll go ahead and try to push it down further. I fixed it temporarily doing that but it seems like with daily use the shifter is pulling up high enough where it isn’t catching that metal tab. I’ll try from the passenger side like you recommended and see if I can get more leverage on the shifter. Thank u all for your help and recommendations!
