I dont know if the video doesnt do it justice, but it really didnt sound too raspy. I come from a bunch of pushrod v8's with flowmaster 40 series so I might be tainted though. Is it louder than an x pipe? Or about the same decibel level?
Actually, under 3,000rpms with light acceleration sounded very good. Had a very unique sound, more like an overhead value “pushrod” engine. The moment I reached moderate acceleration or went above 3,000rpms, it had this obnoxious metallic raspy edge with a glasspack like “clap clap clap” sound. The video doesn’t do it justice as in it sounded much worse in person. The moment I left the exhaust shop and opened the valve, I knew I made a mistake.

Ok well I have one more question before I just leave the res in place... has anyone here tried the mac prochamber on an s550? I loved the sound on my foxbody but I cant find too much about the way they sound on the coyotes.
Generally, chambered mufflers don’t sound good with the coyote and I suspect the prochamber would be no different. I learned the hard way with the Flowmaster single chamber 10 series mufflers. Sounded absolutely glorious with my 2001 Mustang GT. I thought I could replicate that with my 2016.

Instead of having the Flowmasters installed out back like many have, I had the 10-series mid mounted before the axle with an H-pipe and 18 inch double walled tips out back. Surprisingly, sounded hollow, raspy, and not deep at all. Kinda made the GT sound like a good sounding V6 Mustang. Straight through mufflers, bullet mufflers, tend to produce the best sound with the Coyote.

I have the Flowmaster American Thunder true axle back with stock resonator. Sounds perfect and great tone.

From what I understand, the Krona catback uses a mid muffler/resonator that is similar to a prochamber. It's a two in-two out piece with a mixing chamber in the middle.

Which has the non-chambered straight through Flowmaster Outlaw muffler. I agree that’s the direction you want to go if you want the Flowmaster sound.

I’m not sure. Everyone runs the straight through mufflers on the coyotes it seems. I wanted something different and love the Flowmaster tone myself. My kit has the super 44’s.

In that case, different strokes for different folks. I thought the super 10s sounded very un-Flowmaster like on my car but that’s just my opinion.

I dont mean the mufflers themselves, the mac prochamber is an h pipe of sorts, only it has a pretty much empty muffler in place of the actual crossover pipe

I'll have to check that out, I just cant believe how expensive the prochambers are now.
