I have roush axlebacks currently. (I know, super original) I'm thinking about doing a resonator delete and I know the x pipe is raspy-er than an H pipe. But has anyone just done straight pipes just for the resonator? Like making it a true dual exhaust? Does it sound like crap? Anyone have a sound clip? Of course any info is appreciated.

Idk if you will find anyone here that has duals without an x or h due to the increased scavenging effect of both. Just go with the H
I know there are benefits for equalizing your exhaust pressure, but I'm not too concerned with the minor benefits of an h or x pipe, (isn't the stock resonator technically an x pipe?) im interested in exhaust tone and I just cant find a single true dual sound clip anywhere. Really I'm just curious if the 5.0 and true duals would sound good or not...

No it sounds like crap. Keep a crossover of some kind, be it X, H, or resonated X (magnaflow) or resonated H (Borla).

I really wish I could hear it myself, but without being able to, what is you preference?

No crossover will be MUCH more raspier than an x-pipe. It’ll make your Mustang sound like a F150 with glasspacks.

This clip will give you an idea of what no crossover sounds like. This is when I had an electric cutout, the cutouts were dumped before the crossover.

Straight pipe sounds like garbage.

If you have Roush AB's already, do an H-pipe and call it a day.

I would do the magnaflow resonated X-pipe from CJ PP or an H pipe with in-line vibrant 12" bullet resonators behind the crossover.

I dont know if the video doesnt do it justice, but it really didnt sound too raspy. I come from a bunch of pushrod v8's with flowmaster 40 series so I might be tainted though. Is it louder than an x pipe? Or about the same decibel level?

I know that the 5.0 with straight pipes sounds like a tractor. Definately not going that route, I was just wondering about the true dual exhaust.

Those are the same thing, and is what he was referring to. No crossover sounds awful.

Yes, thank you BmacIL. I was trying to say exactly that.

Ok well I have one more question before I just leave the res in place... has anyone here tried the mac prochamber on an s550? I loved the sound on my foxbody but I cant find too much about the way they sound on the coyotes.
