Perception of sound varies drastically from person to person. I recently installed a B-Line X-pipe resonator delete (beautiful metal work) and ended up reverting back to the stock resonator/X-pipe section. Don’t get me wrong, it sounded really good with the delete, especially at lower RPM, but at half to full throttle and high RPM, it absolutely screamed. Just not my preference. Personally, I love the sound of the 350 with resonators. Just the right balance… Again, that’s just my opinion and it took trying it out to figure that out. You’ll just have to try it or listen to another car and make the call yourself.

Congrats on your purchase! Old guy here, did the Corsa double helix after my first year of ownership. No regrets whatsoever. It can get loud at the track at times but nothing better than guys with $100k+ cars coming up to you in pit lane telling you how awesome the Voodoo sounds at full song.

The local Emissions Police will not like this.

My car is bad-ass from the factory.

So what’s the benefit of buying the pre-fab unit (x pipe) over just having two straight sections welded in?

If it has bullet resonators they are not restrictive at all. I took off my suitcase and hated the raspy sound so added some bullets.

Was researching the H-Pipe resonator delete, but your signature was the best find, love it!

Just to add to what everyone else has said already, the sound you get from the delete will depend on which delete route you go with. And if anyone tells you that different deletes won't make a sound difference, it's absolutely wrong. Someone documented it on here a few years ago and I have gone through it.

I went from the stock setup to the Shifteck delete, which is 2.5". It sounded great and was more aggressive then stock. It did has a weirdest sound around 3-4k, a bit hollowy/raspy, but other than that at wot it sounded great.

I then went back to the stock setup for a little bit because I went catless briefly. I then re-installed the cats but left the factory resonators on for a while. While it was no where near as aggressive, it definitely sounded better in terms of quality than the 2.5" x-pipe, especially in that 3-4k ish range. BUT....it was just too tame for me.

So I then went to cutting out the resonators and welding in 2.75 pipes to mimic the R setup. Wow! So much different to the 2.5" Shifteck setup. It's deeper and a bit more refined at that lower range again, but really aggressive.

If I was doing it again or recommending it to anyone, I would say just weld in 2.75" pipes. With the factory x pipe, it's a great sound. And end of the day it's just an exhaust. If you don't like it just get the pipes welded back in. The oem exhaust is full of welds anyway.

which aspect are you most concerned about? value of the vehicle down the road for not having the original exhaust? or just not liking the sound? if the latter, I would think it's kind of a non-issue, as you can always put the resonator back in. even if you have to have a shop weld it back in, not the end of the world by any means. if you're thinking value of the car, maybe swap the entire catback, keep it, and go with an aftermarket cat back, so if you end up not liking it or wanting to return to OEM down the road you can.

I only bring up the value part because I just have a lowly GT :cwl: not a Shelby, so the value down the road isnt a concern to me. that, and i like to drive and modify my cars to my taste anyways. I am not sure if you would have a different opinion on that given that yours is a shelby.

I was hesitant about getting a cat back for mine or just an axle back and having the catback without resonator too loud. i did axle back first, and loved the sound, but wanted more. so now here i am with the axle back and an x-pipe and love it! as far as i know, mine is on the louder side with the roush mufflers. compared to my buddy's 2021 with catless LTs, x pipe, and stock cat back, however, it is not that loud. his just blew my mind the first cold start.

either way, congrats on the new ride!
How much louder did yours get when you added the X-pipe? I currently have the Roush axle back with stock resonator. I bought an X-pipe but haven't installed it yet. :)

A resonator delete does not impact emissions.

Lethal Performance X-Pipe made by Stainless Works. Wish I would have done it sooner after I installed it.

Have a GOOD exhaust shop, remove it in a way that if you don't like it, you can have v-band clamps installed to put it back,
If it was my car, I'd have this done anyways on the stock part and the replacement pipe that gets installed . this way, it is easy to put back on if , it is too loud for your taste, too loud for the pop pop and you need it to pass the db meter, or too loud at a track event. V-band clamps will make swapping it in and out a breeze. Any GOOD exhaust shop should be able to do this .
Congrads on the new toy.
