I have scoured the internet for sound clips of resonator delete H-pipes vs X-pipes. I currently have the Roush Axle Back exhaust and after research in sound, I have settled on an H-pipe for my next exhaust upgrade.

The problem that I am running into now is that the prices vary for what appears to be the same H-pipes. I see a lot of the videos reference the MRT from CJPP but I was wondering if anyone had any insight or if I am overlooking a main difference.

The following are the three I am considering:

CJ Pony Parts
MRT Resonator Delete
Price: $219

American Muscle
Mishimoto Cut and Clamp Resonator Delete H Pipe
Price: $252

Lethal Performance
LETHAL PERFORMANCE 2015 MUSTANG 5.0L RESONATOR DELETE H PIPE
Price: $240

The above three have the same attributes, so I feel like I am comparing apples to apples.
  • 2.5" Full 304 Stainless Steel Construction
  • Mandrel Bent
  • Free shipping

Thanks in advance for any insight that can be provided before I make the purchase.

I had the MRT and had no problems. Removed because it was LOUD with the Roush. Get a discount code and get the best deal.

Of the pipes you have listed the American Muscle one looks like it has an extra brace welded toward the rear of the pipe. Could be worth the extra money.
That is a great point. I didn't notice that in the picture until you pointed it out. I will definitely take that into consideration.

That is a great point I believe CJPP has forum discount code if I message them. I will look into that and see if that price point drives my decision. The missing brace on it that the AM one has could help stability. Did you have any rattling noises or was yours spot welded?

Are you personally going to install the H-Pipe or are you going to take it to an exhaust/muffler shop to have it installed?

I will be taking it to a muffler shop that installed the Roush ABs. They spot weld as part of installation.

Personally, if you're going to take it to a muffler shop to have it welded, it seems like a waste to spend that much more money to purchase a vehicle specific H-Pipe. You are talking about a $40 vs $200+ difference. The only advantage they hold over a universal H-Pipe is ease of fitment.

Also, since a universal H-Pipe comes as two pieces instead of one welded H, you can thoroughly inspect it and avoid the issue below with a hidden poorly produced H-Pipe that many dealt with, with the CJ Pony Parts H-Pipes.

I second the advice to just let the shop do it with their materials...

I never thought of having the muffler shop create the H pipe. Dumb question: would it affect the sound from what I have heard of the H pipes above? I assume the airflow would still be the same.

I have a custom Dyno tune so a new tune would not be required right?
