Its all in the body shape. Im 5'7" and my friend is 6'2", but sitting down we are the same height. Best of luck to the OP, a bad seat in a car can literally be a pain.

Planning my soon to be acquired car out. Looking at weight reduction.

I don't have any experience with seats like this. They don't recline right? Is their a reclining version of these or does that defeat the purpose of them?
The seats don't recline but they're more comfortable, much much lighter and keep you in place in fast driving through the bends.

It's by far the best and most urgent mod you want to get for your Mustang.

But that's me of course.

So what do you do to keep the airbag light off when you install aftermarket seats?

Nothing, I left it there and after a couple of days I didn't care any longer.

I realized a few weeks ago that my seat was up pretty high.. I was wondering why I kept hitting my head getting in and out.. I didn't know it could go down by pushing down on the rear of the horizontal electronic adjuster thingy.. Lol.

I felt like an idiot.. now I sit nice and low inside the car, feels much better.

Adding the proper resister is the typical solution. I haven't seen anywhere yet that someone has worked out what is needed for the s550.

I just wanted to make sure people understand that, if the ABS light is on, the entire system is turned off. In a wreck there will be NO airbags to help.

And if you're in an accident with seats like that be prepared for your insurance not paying you a penny.

To the OP, you must have a tall torso like me. I'm 6'2" but have a 31" inseam, all torso. Have about 3-4' of headroom. Helmet on it touches the headliner(Recaro's).

Corbeau seats are nice and affordable. The ones pictured are fixed back. They also have reclining seats. Most will reduce the height some, especially fixed back seats. All will reduce weight. Corbeau probably already makes mounts and sliders. Look around at different seats, lots of options out there.

Thanks all. Now that I'm back in the area, I'm going to start by removing the drivers seat and poke around a bit. Maybe I can trim the foam bolsters myself... if not, I found a Corbeau dealer in the area so I can sit in a few different seats. Corbeau suggested a CR1 with a shaved base option... or the Evolution. I'll check those out after prodding around with the default seats.

------Edit 2016/02/21------
So I removed the seat (T50 bit required) and after unhooking the two connection cables in the bottom, brought the seat out and flipped it around. To get the bottom seat cover off I had to remove the lever used to adjust the seat back (it pulls right out) and then remove the plastic side on the left of the seat. There were two screws, but I don't recall what I used to get them out. (I believe they were a smaller Torx screw.) There's another wire/clip that you can push down on and pull off to remove the plastic piece and controls entirely. The seat cover is held on by a few clips, and you can unclip-reclip them pretty easily.

From there I used a bread-knife to trim about 1cm of foam almost exposing the wire that runs around the bottom of the seat. (I thought about cutting it, but adding more foam is easier than replacing the entire seat bottom.) I also cut about 2cm off the ends of the bolsters so it'd be easier to move my legs about on long highway drives.

Having driven up to Vancouver and back, I can say it works. I'm still a bit tall for the seat, but I still have my airbags, heated/cooled seats, my $800-1200, and I can probably reverse it by replacing the foam on the seat or gluing more to it in the future. I thought about trimming the bottom part of the seat, but it was a layered construction with vents for the heating/cooling to come through so I didn't mess with it. I'm happy with the results.
I'll spend that money on a sway bar kit sometime.

I have a few basic pictures if anyone wants them.
