4 years ago I purchased a set of MRT no drill hood struts. Fast forward to today. My hood struts are no longer able to support my hood. MRT's "lifetime limited warranty" (stated on their site) turns out to be only a 1 year warranty. They're willing to sell me replacement struts, however I'd rather find another compatible option if possible, that may offer a better warranty. They stated that their gas cylinder struts do run out being that they are gas filled however my stock trunk strut doesn't seem to have this issue...

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Brant

I'm trying to avoid installing a completely new kit. Ideally I'd like to just replace the gas struts and utilize the existing hardware from the mrt kit.

I totally get that, but just buy a set of Redlines. They won't screw you around with a bullshit warranty. Their customer service is great, their support is great, and they'll go out of their way to support you, even if you buy used. They're the company that all custom car parts manufacturers should be benchmarking. The product is great, too.

My Redlines are 4 years old and still work great....any gas pressurized strut will eventually fail, the rubber seals will deteriorate. 3 years seems a bit short...

+1 for the customer service, bama is the same way excellent customer service. Makes life much easier and is worth spending the money for the new kit.

Also alot of people will pull the hood up not say you do but its common and it shortens the life of the seals. Let it lift itself as far as it will before you pull it the rest of the way. Or lightly push it to start the hood. Same works for trunks and rear doors of suv's
