"Replace Key Battery" warning still appearing after recently changing the battery (2016 V6)

Hey all,

A week or so after I bought my Mustang I got a notice on the dashboard that my key fob's battery was running low and I needed to replace it.

I did so, using the correct, new batteries in the correct orientation, as described in the owner's manual.

For the following couple weeks there were no more notices regarding the fob.

Yesterday, however, I got a notice again. I opened up the fob and reset the batteries with the notice still appearing.

Has anyone else encountered this and is there anyway to fix it/confirm the batteries are not low?

I have had this issue at times. Usually, a sharp rap of the fob will provide for better contact of the batteries and I'm good to go. Unless the batts are run down again...

Thanks! Yesterday as I walking to my car after work I held down the lock button as I heard that worked elsewhere. I haven't gotten the message since.

If it happens again I'm going to try the methods you listed. Your list is pretty concise so I hope this thread helps whoever has this issue in the future.
