My door speakers buzz a little so replacing them with 6.5 inch 3 way speakers. I have the standard 4.2 inch display. Do you think I will notice much improvement in sound quality

It depends on what you replace it with. Since you're not using aftermarket amp, try looking for a speaker that has 90-93db per watt per meter sensitivity and also it's power handling is low. Something that has power handling of max 25-45 Watts RMS. The factory amp is weak and going for high power handling speakers will have the inverse effect of what you're try to achieve. Also maybe consider either 2-way components that have in-line crossovers(like the factory) or 2-way coaxial and then disconnect the factory tweeter. 3- way coaxial are kind of a gimmick.

The most important aspect of your choice besides the size for fitment reasons, will be the IMPEDANCE required by the amplifier to see as its load. The factory radio has requires a low impedance load. 8 ohm typical speaker would have no volume and poor response. Maybe someone can chime in with the impedance requirement for the front door speaker with your particular factory option radio. If the radio is looking for a 2 ohm speaker for instance, try to find one as close as possible for the best result. Almost anything aftermarket will sound better than factory as long as you mind the above.

Just my 2 cents....

If your keeping the stock amp and are doing a speaker upgrade, the above mention about the low wattage/high db sensitivity is correct. You will also want to make sure the ohm is just the same or really close. If you replace a 2ohm speaker with a 4ohm speaker, volume will be less as you are cutting the wattage in half.

Alot of manufactures are creating speakers with the lower/higher ohm for OEM replacements.

What OEM audio system do you have (9 speaker, 6 speaker)?

@dirtwarrior the Infinities that you found are your best bet. I agree with the other two members, regarding the impedance. I didn't mention it, because 99.9% of the consumer products on the market are 4ohm and below. The base speakers are 4ohm midrange and 8 ohm tweeter if I remember correctly hooked to each other in parallels. If I knew what I know after installing aftermarket amps and active subwoofers and stuff, I would simply put the Infinity speakers in and be done with it.

No center speaker in the base 4 inch stereo.
2 door woofers, 2 tweeters in pillar, 2 rear deck speakers = 6.
