Removing reverse lockout collar from manual boot

I am switching to a manual boot on my 2021 10R80 GT - it looks like the leather is folded into the plastic that makes up the reverse collar - the MGW shifter intallation video on youtube shows cutting the bottom section off of the collar, but doesn't actually show removal - does the boot just pull out? I am installing an SR Performance white shifter ball in place of the stock shifter, eliminating the PRNDL completely.

To remove the reverse collar you have to take out a couple of the top stitches where the boot meets the collar. After I installed the new collar my wife restitched it for me.

Edit: I’m referring to a manual, I don’t know exactly how the A10 is…
