After installing the Steeda shifter, and having a shorter threaded rod, the shift knob has to sit a little higher than I'd like to accommodate the stupid reverse lockout collar. Has anyone thought about trimming the plastic piece to allow for some more vertical clearance of the collar? Just wondering if anybody had thought about it, or actually has done it.

Added a picture as a reference to where I'm talking about cutting.

I'm kind of interested in his as well. Thinking about getting the tri-ax and was looking at shift knobs last night. I'm kind of hesitant to buy a knob, not sure what fits and what doesn't. I do like your idea of a shorter collar.

My Anarchy Motive shift knob fits with the Steeda Tri-Ax and a jam nut. I just want to see if I can get it to sit a little bit lower. I should be getting my GT350 knob in today and I'll be test fitting that to see what I can do with it.

So I did a little investigating just now. I'm going to give it a go with trimming it. I can't see any harm in cutting off what I marked. It seems to serve no purpose. As of right now I have plenty of room on the thread with my GT350 knob. This is how it sits with a jam nut currently. Will update this weekend when I get my hands on a dremel.
