Is it ok to remove the front crash bar? Does it support the bumper in anyway?

No it does not. But why would you want too. It is a very important in the crash protecting of your car. It you are talking about the collapsible plastic piece that mount to the front bumper. If you are it does not support anything and has little protecting for anything above mph impact.

No I'm talking about the actual metal bar. I don't want the weight at the track

You can remove but I would highly suggest keeping it if possible. If you have adaptive cruise, the sensor mounts the crash bar too.

If you're looking for increased air flow, I would suggest the Steeda crash bar.

I ordered Steeda's front bar. I believe it saves 10 pounds, gives extra room and flow to the ic. It will be installed once it warms up here.

Yes it absolutely supports the front bumper. You can trim it down for more airflow

The crash bar does support the bumper

The crash bar probably offers chassis rigidity at the front too. I can't imagine how badly it will handle with it gone. Look to BMR or Steeda for alternatives as suggest.

100% don't remove it imho

I’m not sure how much it helps with rigidity because your frontend has more support than just the crash bar.
I ran my 2015 without a crash bar for about a year and it felt just like stock. Could not tell at all
