Good info. I suppose the whole point of Blue 242 or new treated bolts is to keep the nut from getting loose and losing it's torque value, assuming I understand this correctly.

Not exactly, it is to keep the nut from getting loose but that is different from keeping the joint tight. Although "Ford v Ferrari" didn't give him much credit Carroll Smith was Shelby's main guy for making the Ford GT fast and reliable. His series of books are *the* resource for bolted joints and anything else about keeping race cars together.
Well worth reading if we want to modify our cars or just maintain them.
