recommand on oil catch can?

So cat less downpipe with gutted pcv requires dual catch can?

yes and no. only reason to go with the dual UPR is for the check valve where other catch cans don't have one. A gutted pvc requires a check valve. With other brands you can just splice a cheap one in somewhere on the imput line but for less mechanically inclined or shear simplicity you just go dual UPR. If I were to do it over again I would have built my own from homedepot parts and saved a bunch of money however my mishimoto look super clean :)

I know you guys are primarily talking about the EB's but I too had a concern with mounting an AOS. I got a JLT one for my GT (passenger "dirty" side). I like that it uses that factory Ford hoses that click right into place, however, I was a little concerned with how it was mounted...in that it wasn't mounted at all. Basically, the can just "floats" in between the hoses. As far as I know, nobody has had problems with this but it did worry me a bit since you could clearly see it would shake up/down easily. I assume that could get worse as it collects oil and gets heavier. Over time, I wondered if it could cause damage to the fittings on either end.

In any case, I changed the oil last week and ended up using a zip tie to hold the can to the coolant reservoir. That seemed to work pretty well. Not the prettiest mounting option but it does the trick!

Food for thought, the whole car is moving so the oil will slush around more or less regardless of mounted or floating. Just keep up with emptying the can and there will be no issues. I wouldn't stress on weight placed on the fittings though.

For those still questioning whether or not they should get one of these, maybe this will help. I first checked after about 2K miles and found some oil. This is after about 5K. The second pic indicates how much is in the cup.




I'm on the fence about "catch cans" because the amount collected isn't a fair assessment, because the engine itself will burn the oil that passes through - especially in WOT.

Some dealerships are also voiding warranty with catch cans for various related reasons.

Does the Mishimoto can has any clear window to check the oil level at a glance?

The problem is you will still have to get your valves cleaned at some point and time down the road, CC help collect some of the blow by from getting into the valves/combustion chambers but not all of it. Build one or buy a mishimoto or UPR kit and roll on. But we will need to have the intake valves inspected about 60-70k miles to see what they look like/get them cleaned, guys with no CC even sooner. This is just the way it is with DI engines.

If you plan on going catless, get the UPR dual and be ready to gut the PCV connector, if not get a mishi or the upr single can.

Installed the UPR single last weekend. We shall see how it works. Install wasn't to bad, pretty straight forward.

All you need is Meth/aux injection:headbang:

More power, and a cleaner, healthier, engine.



Couldn't be an easier sell for the signifigant other!
