[S550guy]

How is the normal seat in the S550? In the pictures it looks way more supportive than the current S197 standard seat. I'm wondering if the difference between seat support is a drastic this time.

The base seat in S550 is great as well! I would definitely say the base S550 seat is an improvement over the base S197 seat. (13MY S197, at least)

The difference between S197/S550 base seats is more than the difference between S197/S550 Recaro.

I would recommend either! If you like more support/feel like you're sitting in a race seat, go for the Recaro. However, the base seat is plenty comfortable/supportive as well!

Thanks for affirming what looks to be the case, based on the photographs and the times I've seen them in person. They look to be a step up in terms of side and bottom bolstering. I really like the Recaros in the current car, but for my daily driver needs, they would be a little too "race seaty" If I was doing more autocross or track driving, I'd likely get the Recaros.

What about weight difference? The difference between base/recaro in the s197 is about 80lbs for the pair... Correct?

The new car will have the multiple driver adjustment (3 person) , you could set one setting for getting in and out and then just hit the one you set for driving . Then you would still have one setting left for the wife !........Wait did I just say that ? addle::headbonk:

The Recaro's are manually adjusted only in the S197... I'm thinking that will also be the case on the S550.

If you ever have passengers in the back Recaros are not ideal. The back of the seat is really high and the people in the back really can't see a thing....

Yes. Although for some reason I've seen people assume they came with the Track Package. Also some people assumed the only way to get 3.73 gears was with the track package as well.

Wait... There's a way to get 3.73s without the TP? Does this apply to convertibles?

It would be cool if you could get Base + Leather Recaros + Boss like X-Brace for those wanting to keep it light.
