What are you all doing for a license plate frame? Tell the color of the car, too.

My car is Ingot Silver, and I debated back and forth between a black and a chrome frame.

I thought chrome would get hidden in the silver, but would match the chrome around the tail lights.

So I installed a black one, because I thought it would go well with the black on the rear of the car.

Now I think the black stands out TOO much and draws your attention to the license plate (the last place you really want to draw attention to). So now I'm thinking chrome is the way to go, as it wouldn't stand out against the silver as much.

Interested in hearing what the rest of you are doing... :)

I'll be putting a black bubble style cover over my plate but it won't stick out as much since I have Magnetic.

I guess a picture would help.

I have a clear cover over the plate, which is illegal, even though I don't know why. I can see the smoked covers being illegal, but the clear ones?

Anyway... I think it looks good, but it really stands out!

Think chrome would be better? Or keep the black?

I'm leaning toward changing it to chrome... but I like to hear all opinions.

Well I don't think you can go wrong with either. The black goes with filler panel and above diffuser

On previous cars when I've used frames, they've sometimes resulted in some discolloration or slight marks in the paint, which I would basically only see at trade-in time :)

If I were get a frame, I would get a black or silver contrast color. However, this time, I am thinking of simply putting on the plate with weatherstripping around the outer edges. The purpose would be to keep the plate from touching the paint.

I am waiting on my final plates still at this point, so I'll be watching if others have wonderful ideas.

I normally don't put a frame around mine. I'll put some kind of back on it to protect the paint though.

I put a foam backing on the plate.
