I just bought a '15 Ecoboost Premium RagTop. At highway speeds I noticed that the rear glass vibrates. It's a little discomforting and a lot annoying. The car doesn't vibrate, just the rear glass. It appears to be from air pressure. This is my 4th ragtop (1st mustang) and I've never had this problem on the other cars. Is this typical for the stangs? Or is there a problem somewhere I need to resolve?

Thx.

I notice mine doing the same thing, mainly while the side windows are down.

Yes, but I don’t find it to be excessive. I don’t think you can have a soft top with a glass rear window that would not move.

Mine has always done it, I stopped noticing it shortly after I bought it.

Are you riding with the windows down? I have a ‘16 and it’s been a solid car and top.

Thx all. I've only driven it at highways speeds once with the windows up. Sounds like it's normal and nothing to worry about.

Thx again.

There was a topic for that matter a while ago.
The cause might be, that rear window has loosen up some of the roof frame pins/ support bracket or something.

It supposedly can be fixed and be the reason for shimmy glass

Check the support bracket on either side of the rear window. They were a problem for some early convertibles (like mine). They fall out of the attachment to the window and the rear window vibrates a lot with the side windows down. I had mine fixed by the dealer when my car was under warranty.

You'd know if the side support was out of its clip at the window, both the top and the window would be sagging at about mid point of the sail panel. If the position of the window looks normal, your support is clipped in (if not, it's the clip at the window that has come undone).

I don't see any sagging or anything misshapen at the side panel or the top. Or around/near the rear glass. The top looks fine when it's up and goes up & down smoothly. There's nothing obvious from appearances. I'm just wondering if one or more of the top support braces/fasteners are loose or broken and that's causing the window to vibrate. The vibration may be normal for the 'stang. But it seems odd given my experience with older soft tops. This is the only soft top I've owned that has this 'feature'.

Thx.

The support struts should be visible where they attach to the window. If the both have come loose it will look normal but the window is not supported properly and will vibrate excessively.

This is the only image I have of the back glass/top from the rear quarter... It's not a close up so I'm not sure it's helpful. It looks like there's a hump from the middle of the side of the rear glass to the side panel on the soft top in your images that I don't notice on my car. I'll definitely take a look again for this hump.

Thx.
