So I have a 6 speed 17 GT, and it looks like my rear differential is going out. Am I better off doing a rebuild, or ordering a used 3.31 Rear differential and plugging it in? And also wondering if I could swap a different rear differential size and still work ?

putting fresh clutch pack in will be way more straight forward, cheaper, and simpler than any other option.

if you really wanna upgrade throw a performance pack diff in and have the ecu caibrated for the 3.73 gears cause then you'd have the vastly superior torsen diff.

I'm still confused on calibrating for 3.73 if you have 3.55 or lower-some say it automatically calibrates, others say you can use FORscan, while FordPerformance says you need an aftermarket tune.
