First too much crap in the garage, I’m too old to crawl around the ground looking for a existing entry point to run the wire, car too low to ground, can’t get front end onto ramps but can get the rear on them, and yes we have jacking rails and jack stands but looking for a easier way.

Now anyone with a convertible run the wires for rear facing water restraint dash cam mounted camera on a license plate bracket into their vehicle with existing holes, I read about the hole behind the accelerator pedal but was looking for something closer to the rear. If not then I will drill a hole rubber grommet it then seal with silicone if need be. 2020 eco

I used two way industrial Velcro on Thinkware mounted upside down on the top center of rear seat back with power cord plugged in the top, routed behind the seat between the vert top, loose, under rear seat cushion, under sill trim zip tied, and hardwired to passenger kick fuse panel.

I wanted it accessible to pull the storage chip.

A picture of that mounting would be great. Can the camera see behind with the top up or down?

Here's a pic. It works with top up and down. I like how visible it is so tailgaters and cops see it, before they do something stupid.

Never thought about that might give it a try but having it ont the tag give tag view of vehicle behind unless you live in my state where we don't have front tags. Guess could also make a bracket to fit behind the seat to mount the camera on also.

Yeah I've thought about a bracket, that would allow right side up camera mounting, cleaner install. Pretty simple. Piece of ALU, two bends, finished edges, black paint. Can even use the mount it comes with on the bracket, though they are a bit chunky.

Now that you've brought this up I think I'll do it next week.

A write-up with pictures and dimensions of that little project would be fantastic!

I found the perfect bracket shape thanks to an unused leg for a Yamaha YSP 5600. It's 1/8 steel. Needs slight adjustment to bend and height of top portion reduced by coup!e inches, and new powder coat.

Overall, I don't want to spend the time or $200+ with shop to do it perfectly so I just cleaned my mount up and used new 3M moulding tape again.

Would you mind posting a few photos of what you made? Thanks!

I just 3M body moulding taped my Thinkware F200 to rear seat with hardwire from fuse box down rocker and behind rear seat. No time to mes with bracket yet. Current works fine.

Great idea until I can DIY a bracket of some sort! Thanks!

The clearance back there is so tight need a custom bracket I'm not bothered when 3M taped cam works perfect.
