Or the opposite. I actually had a Pontiac dealer disconnect an AC hose to the dash and aim it at a place in the dash to cool off parts that were rattling. I was pretty pissed when I noticed no air from one vent and that the dash still rattled if the AC was off. LoL. Worst Pontiac dealer of all time! And to think I voted for him for Governor. Now that's a good point, that as the heat expands the plastic things tighten up.
Guess I won't be asking the dealer to fix any rattles for fear of something similar.Or the opposite. Hopefully, dealers in general have improved since '78, but yeah, I don't let a dealer fix anything if I can do it myself, including if I have to buy parts (as long as they are cheap parts). Even with a good dealer, there are risks. You see stories of customer cars stolen from dealers, a delivery truck bumping into them, etc. I'm not paranoid; I wouldn't lose a minute of sleep worrying about what happens at a decent dealer but do maintenance and warranty repairs myself when practical.Guess I won't be asking the dealer to fix any rattles for fear of something similar.
Seems so often when things are "repaired" rattles set in.Yeah I wouldn't take my car into the dealer for any rattle issues. A lot of them can easily be fixed. I used foam that is used for window ac units and I got rid of most of the rattles from the dash. Still need to do the door panels as when I had the latches replaced under warranty Ford messed up the panels and there is now a rattle in the panel somewhere :(
Bummer! I wonder if that "race" suspension tends to shake things loose?'17 GT350 with ~3500 miles, there's a rattle/noise from what seems to be the headliner/overhead lights
Whatever it is happens driving on smooth-ish roads... Just put the windows down or put it in sport exhaust and you can't hear it, lolBummer! I wonder if that "race" suspension tends to shake things loose?
I wonder if this is because of poor assembly of the 2017s or your sportier suspension?my 2015 GT. Pp which was tore apart over 20 times testing suspensions had zero rattles in 3 years and was stiff as a board. my 15 was an early car, first batch car number 140 i honestly think it had much more hands on assembly because my 2017 GT350 rattles horribly and its pissing me off. i do miss my GT for its audio system and the lack of rattles.
