A/C and rattles galore

Hey everyone,

Looking for some insight on some issues I have been experiencing.

First off: strange smell coming from the A/C when I first turn it on. Would kind of describe it as sweet/fresh if that makes sense. It is also making a whining/hissing noise when it is on certain levels.

Is the A/C problem relating to the evap core?

Second: Rattles.... everywhere. I have had the dealer confirm the following rattles: driver/passenger side B pillar, automatic shifter, glove box. Also experiencing a rattle near the steering wheel that is quite aggressive. Have put my hand on all components to try to locate and cannot.

Dealer put anti-rattle tape/foam in a ton of places yet all of the rattles remain.

Any suggestions for the rattles? Planning on giving the car back to the dealer to let them spend more time on it.

The A/C evaporator is a big problem ... almost daily reports by people here of them going out. Lots of threads about the issue.
