Radio w/ HD and CD player

Has anyone swapped out the base radio in a GT Premium for the upgraded one with the cd player/HD compatibility ? My understanding is Ford uses a standard wiring harness. I purposely left the option out of my order as I've no need for a subwoofer, cd player nor, the extra speakers. I simply want H D compatibility.

I think you might be swapping more than just the radio, the cd player is under button controls that is below the touch screen, no idea if that is all one unit or not.

I thought the S550 didn't come with a CD any more as of the 2019 MY? I recall there being threads on here about it. Maybe CD is only included with a certain trim package now?

I think I recall my brother's 18 GT coming with a CD player but my 19 didn't. Both were Premium PP1 cars. He's in a GT350 now so I can't verify.

The CD/HD radio option comes with the 12 speaker B&O system and the subwoofer in the trunk.

I have no use for the CD nor the 12 speaker B&O/subwoofer. It is the H D that I am wanting. Thus my desire to install the HD radio if it is doable.

I have a 2019 GT with a Shaker system (name on dash) - and to my surprise - it does come with a CD player. It has the sub woofer in the boot, so I am confused as the what system I have. It is not B & O.

If you change out the infotainment unit, and Ford does an update and wasn't to upload the new firmware/software and It expects the unit the car was built with, not a different one. if the updates will brick the unit.
