So, does this mean that the 50th Anniversary package replaces the CD player with an 8-track player?

No, a 4-track from Mad Man Muntz!

CD sound quality is far better than anything you'll get on .mp3 files or Satellite or anything else.

No its really not. If you have mp3 files ripped in 320 you wont hear a difference. Especially in a freakin mustang.

Maybe on a high end/really good controlled stereo - but I concur, you won't notice much difference in a Mustang :)

Only good thing I see for CDs nowadays is if you were to go on a long road trip and just happen to find some music at a rest stop that you really wanted to listen to...

I like to listen to a lot of classical music while I'm driving; you can really tell the difference in the acoustics of the recording studio or hall. Unless you're using a FLAC player.

Cd's do tend to bring out the highs alot better over sat or fm or the mp3.

The way music is produced now is horrible.
I have some music ripped from vinyl or even better source tape and comparing the same songs to the compressed over produce crap on CD, the difference is clear.

Nothing wrong with MP3 if the source is good and little to no compression.
