Hello to all of you,

i have a GT with an automatic transmission, and am currently contemplating the installation of the larger radiator from the performance Package or the 350. I could not find any instructions whatsoever. Does anybody here have a hint for me or maybe isntalled it himself? I searched the forum, but was not able to find what i was looking for.

any help will be apreciated.

I just installed the Ford performance radiator on Tuesday. I live in AZ and it became apparent from reading the other T-stat threads on here that the PP guys with the bigger radiators were running temps 20+ degrees cooler than I was with the stock GT radiator. Might not be a big deal other places, but when you sit in freeway traffic on 115+ degree days like I do every bit of cooling helps.

I installed this and a Mishimoto reservoir the same day I did my GT350 TB and IM install.

Pretty straight forward, but you have to have somebody help you. No way to do this on your own as you need somebody below and above at various points. My father, who is a retired Ford Master Tech helped me....or me him I guess.;)

Basically in a nutshell:

Disconnect battery
Remove under cover, lots of pins and screws
Drain radiator
Remove reservoir and upper cover
Remove CAI feed to TB(I was taking all this off for the GT350 install anyway)
Remove upper engine hose.....pair of heavy duty clamp pliers is helpful.
Disconnect and remove electric fans
Remove lower engine hose.....heavy duty clamp pliers again
Remove the radiator mount bolts

The radiator is now free......except for the AC condenser......which sucks.
The condenser is snapped down into the front of the radiator and the passenger side upper is a royal PITA to get out as the metal tubing won't clear the bracket easily. You need someone below and above to shimmy and move it around until you can get it to slide out:frusty:

Once free of the condenser you can pull the radiator out.

The installation of the lager one is basically just the reverse steps, with the condenser reattachment being a PITA once again......eventually we got it worked in.

I have a manual so as far as a tranny cooler also being involved I have no idea were that comes in to the equation.

Hope that helps.....
