R wheels

I was told by some Ford guy Driving an R to the Roush open house the wheels would cost $5000 each to replace.

Ford is running those CF wheels up on Michigan roads and if something wasn't good they would have found it by now.

If I were to get an R I'd take the stock wheels off put on something aftermarket and frame the stock ones. Way to nice to take a chance at curbing.

True, but how many wheels weigh less than 18 lbs?

I thought they were 18lbs less than the stock wheels, not 18lbs total. 18lbs for a 19x11 wheel?

Anyone with an R who doesn't want their stock wheels I will trade my aluminum GT350 wheels for them. I can't think of the last time I curbed a wheel. I'm always careful and it just doesn't happen (knock on wood).

Here's my thought - if you are afraid to drive the car with CF wheels, just buy a regular GT350. Then you won't have to worry. I'm just sayin' - I'd drive the heck outta this car. I don't care what wheels. Just have fun!

I have an R coming but I'm gonna keep the CF wheels on it.

According to the order guide I have, the R package comes with a "wheel locking kit". It's listed under the tires.
